29 March 2015. The greatest tribute one can do to Lee Kuan Yew is not in words, but the realization that our flag flew mighty high and proud. We have lived in a special place.
And as we celebrate our Golden Jubilee this year, this is my wish for my country:
That we continue to live in peace despite being in such tumultuous world that we are observing from behind our keyboards. That we continue to have a clean government that constantly learns from any mistakes. That more of us have the opportunity to travel more and realize what special place we live in. That more of us learns of other country had fought with bloodshed was what that is fed to us with a silver spoon.
I am not given to making sense out of life – or coming up with some grand narrative on it – other than to measure it by what you think you want to do in life. As for me, I have done what I had wanted to, to the best of my ability. I am satisfied.
Lee Kuan Yew, 1923 – 2015.
